This is the third in a series of brief biographies of character actors
active in horror and science fiction films of the classic, pre-1960
period. Skelton was a very talented character actor, often compared to Dwight Frye in that he appeared in similar roles in horror and gangster pictures. His skill with make up and odd characterizations has often been compared to that of Lon Chaney Sr. This
series was created for the Monster Bash convention held in the
Pittsburgh area each summer, and will not be made commercially

The age of the character actors..
..has unfortunately been forgotten to make way for much less worthy, (and decidedly less interesting !), "filler". My personal movie collection consists almost entirely of '30's & '40's horror and film noir.. The simple reason for this is that they were much better, much more intriguing movies. (Yes, "MOVIES".., NOT "FILMS".. "Films" were what we were shown on Friday afternoons in grade school when the teacher wanted to take it easy at the end of the day..). Anyway, what made these movies soo excellent were the amazing character actors.., and, truly, Mr.Knaggs was one of the best. When you want to watch a movie because you know a certain character actor is in the cast..then you'll know what I mean. THANK YOU for creating such a well done, & well earned biography of a marvellously talented and truly inspirational artist. It is honest, moving and comprehensive..!! Good work Henson Studio..!!, & THANK YOU Internet Archive for making such relevant, & important content available. We all benefit from your excellent work..!
